Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of every body cell. Your body produces it approximately every three days. For beautiful, elastic skin, it must be produced daily. The highest concentration of the body's own hyaluronic acid, approximately 50%, is found in our skin; beneath the epidermis, called the dermis.
However, their proportion steadily decreases with age. From the age of 30 onwards, the decline is even more dramatic: it is said that the body's own hyaluronic acid production is only 40% at age 40 and only 10% at age 60. The skin on the face, neck, and décolleté, in particular, becomes increasingly dry and wrinkled. Sunlight and free radicals can also negatively impact hyaluronic acid production.
Hormonal changes in the body from age 45 onward also affect the skin: Cell renewal slows down, and the skin becomes thinner. By supplying our skin with hyaluronic acid daily, we can not only feel younger, but also look younger.
